Addition Strategies from Unit 2!

Dear Families,

We are currently working on Unit 2 in Math. We are working on Addition Strategies! I wanted to share a few of those strategies on here.

Double Addition:

1+1
2+2
3+3
4+4
5+5
6+6
7+7
8+8
9+9

Near Double Addition:

1+2 so 1+1=2 so 1+2 is one more so it is 3.
2+3 so 2+2=4 so 2+3 is one more so it is 5
3+4 so 3+3=6 so 3+4 is one more so it is 6

Make 10 out of 9:

9+1 so 10+0 is 10, 9+1=10
9+2 so 10+1 is 11, 9+2=11
9+3 so 10+2 is 12, 9+3=12
9+4 so 10+3 is 13, 9+4=13
9+5 so 10+4 is 14, 9+5=14

Make 10 out of 8:

8+2 so 10+0=10, 8+2=10
8+3 so 10+1=11, 8+3=11
8+4 so 10+2=12, 8+4=12
8+5 so 10+3=13, 8+5=13
8+6 so 10+4=14, 8+6=14
